Each item is coated with a clear durable urethene sealer that adds protection for many years. Wood is a natural product that is suseptible to changes due to excessive moisture or dryness . Any spill should be wiped immediately. We recommend placing felt or leather underneath any fine furniture. If damage has occured and discovered during unpacking you must report the damage immediatley repack the item in its original carton and packing materials for pick up by the shipping company.
